Satellite Services

The Media Group can receive programming off satellites on both the "C" and "Ku" bands. We are also receiving DishTV programming. Please note that many services are scrambled and others are going to digital signals which will require additional equipment or payments to decode the signals.

Scheduling a Satellite Program:

To schedule a satellite program for viewing by an audience at the time of broadcast, please contact us well in advance of the telecast. We will then help you arrange for the proper licensing and payment of any necessary fees.

Telephones can be provided for programs offering a "call in" option. If you need a phone, let us know when you first contact us, so we can arrange with telecommunications to have it installed.

"Live" satellite feeds can be sent to any classrooms in Bolton and to Emerson, Davis, and Gannett. Please contact the Registrar's Office to reserve a room.

Videotaping off the satellite must be requested at least 24 hours before the program, and proper copyright clearance must have been obtained.

Cable TV Services

The Media Group receives the local cable company (Time-Warner) and can record local programs for classroom use under the Fair Use regulations of the U.S. Copyright Laws.

Student TV System:

A student operated television channel SKID TV (Channel 16) is available on the campus cable TV system. The broadcast schedule varies, so check channel 16 for information.
