Tennis (W) Coaching Staff

Curt Speerschneider took over the Skidmore College women's tennis program in 2006.
Speerschneider had been the assistant women's tennis coach at Washington and Lee University from 2002 to 2006.  W&L has finished ranked second in nationally in three of the past four seasons in National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III play. 

During that time, the program produced seven  All-American players, including the 2004 ITA and 2005 NCAA III singles champion and the 2006 NCAA III singles champion.
 
A 2000 graduate of North Carolina State, Speerschneider was an assistant coach for the NC State women's team from 1998-2000 and an assistant for the men's team from 2000-2001.   He played for the Wolfpack from 1995-1997.

Amy Wachenheim has come back to her alma mater to join the coaching staff for the 2007-2008 season.  While attending Colgate University for the 1997-98 season, she was named Patriot League Player of the year after she won the league singles championship. 

As a four time all-American at Skidmore, she compiled a record of 81-23, including appearances in four national championship events and three league championships.  While serving as captain of the team her junior and senior seasons, she was named to the UCAA First team in both seasons and was awarded the UCAA Player of the Year award in 2000.  

Since graduation, Wachenheim has played in several women’s ITF Pro Circuit tournaments around the globe, including stops in Spain, Portugal, Mexico, and Canada In 2004 she took on the head coaching position at Manhattanville College and continued her success there.  During her three year tenure she led the Valiants to three conference championships and was named Skyline Conference coach of the year in 2004 and 2006.
